What is an EMDR Intensive?
EMDR Therapy Intensives are extended, structured EMDR sessions specifically designed to accelerate your healing journey. By incorporating longer session lengths and increased frequency, this format allows for a more focused and efficient therapeutic experience, tailored to meet your unique needs and treatment goals.
Although they’re called “EMDR Therapy Intensives,” the experience is designed to feel anything but overwhelming. This transformative approach prioritizes your pace, comfort, and individual needs, ensuring the process feels supportive and empowering—not intense.
With EMDR Therapy Intensives, you’ll benefit from a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your specific objectives. You’ll have the opportunity to spend extended time in sessions and the flexibility to meet multiple times in a single week. Additionally, you’ll receive a personalized workbook to help you track your progress and insights before, during, and after the intensive program, ensuring you have the tools you need for lasting change.
Sessions are offered in 90-minute and 3-hour increments and are available in the following formats:
“Intensively”: Ongoing sessions scheduled at a frequency that best suits your needs, allowing for a continuous therapeutic process.
“Intensive”: A defined number of sessions scheduled over a concentrated period, typically taking place over 3 to 5 days. This format provides an immersive experience, enabling you to dive deep into your healing work in a supportive and structured environment.
Maybe you’ve considered or even tried the traditional weekly therapy model, but with your busy schedule and life’s demands, committing to regular sessions has felt overwhelming or unrealistic.
Perhaps you’re seeking help now, and the idea of spending months in therapy doesn’t feel aligned with what you need in this moment.
Maybe you’re entering a phase of life where you finally have time to focus on therapy, but you know that the traditional weekly model won’t be sustainable in the long run.
What is Adjunct EMDR?
Adjunct EMDR therapy is designed to complement and enhance your ongoing work with your primary therapist. Offered in an intensive format, this approach targets specific treatment goals, such as traumatic memories or intrusive symptoms, to accelerate progress in traditional therapy.
By focusing on key areas, adjunct EMDR can help overcome stuck points, facilitate deeper healing, and enrich the overall therapeutic process. This therapy is supplemental and does not replace or interrupt your ongoing therapeutic relationship with your primary therapist.
I collaborate closely with both clients and their primary therapists to ensure a cohesive, supportive experience throughout the adjunct EMDR process. Typically, adjunct therapy is short-term, consisting of 3 to 9 sessions, and is centered on resolving specific memories or symptoms that may be hindering therapeutic progress.
